My students last year found a way to tell me all the time "Ms. you really do be walking like you talking". I had no idea that was a song. I still have not listened to the track but I appreciate what they used to describe the passion I have for being an educator. The 5 steps in this talk were interesting and I believe it can definitely help those who educate the educators. It seems that PL is not effective because it is not interesting to most rather mandated to meet a requirement. I do not know where my current PL funds go as I am new to the district and campus however I can say that my administration is very open to alternative methods of PL and the implementation of research based alternatives in the classroom. I am torn between adding additional length to each session or increasing the sessions. I have mixed feelings on the duration argument made yet I do agree that ongoing learning is a must.
